Connecting County Durham is run and maintained by Durham County Council. The aim is to make it easier for residents, families, and professionals to find reliable information about support available in the community.
It’s free to register a service on Connecting County Durham.
We want to include services that help local residents to:
-
Have a good life
-
Get involved and find support in their community
-
Stay independent, safe, and well
This can include both community and commercial services, as long as they clearly benefit the care, support, or wellbeing of local people.
All applications are reviewed before being published, and we reserve the right to reject any applications that do not meet our standards.
We work hard to make sure information stays accurate. Services are reviewed regularly:
-
Large national organisations – every 3 years
-
Medium-sized or regional organisations – every 2 years
-
Local independent organisations – every year
-
Time-limited events or schemes – every 6 months
We’ll send reminder emails before a review is due.
If details change in between reviews, providers can use the “Suggest a Change” option at any time. Suggested changes are checked and may be adapted to meet our readability and content standards.
We also reserve the right to remove a listing at any time, without notice, if it no longer meets our policies.
